I'm brand new to couchsurfing! Pretty new to the nursing profession. Not all that new to traveling. In addition to living abroad and traveling with my family, I also spent 3 years in the Peace Corps in Uganda and therefore have quite a bit of knowledge about bananas. If that helps.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love taking small weekend getaway trips and would really enjoy meeting interesting people and sharing their homes rather than staying in stuffy hotels. I'm in the process of looking for a new house/apartment where I will hopefully also be able to host in the near future. I find it rare to have a bad experience engaging with pleasant strangers.

Interests

Biking, swimming, hiking and going on urban walks. I love traveling, comedy writing, reading, and nerding out on podcasts and crosswords and the like. As a night shift-er I am also very, very interested in napping. (But hopefully not on vacation.)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not terribly into music (it's okay to cringe). Movies, I tend to go for the independent, understated comedy flicks. Books....a lot of books. Right now I'm interested in biographies and other nonfiction but love a good novel! Is this vague enough? Suggestions are always welcome.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Played on the most magnificent sand dunes, camped in the same desert and woken up to the sounds of roaming desert elephants. Life is surely all downhill from there, am I right?

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning from others. I'm a fairly quiet person but have a great sense of humor and find it really fun to share stories and laughter with new people. I think we learn a lot from each other's stories and experiences, rather than explicit advice or teaching. That being said, I'll take all the advice and teaching I can get!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some laughs! A little laid back Colorado spirit. I'm happy to help cook, pay for food, bring a bottle of wine, do dishes, etc. I'm new at this so am eager to have a nice time, be a conscientious guest, write you a limerick...? We'll see!
