About Me

ABOUT ME

I have a mellow personality, I'm flexible, have a zest for life and love travel and meeting new people. I have a good sense of humour and I am intolerant only of intolerance. I am independent, happy in my own skin and have plenty of life experience. I am an individualist, quite unorthodox in many aspects of my life and love to share and enjoy good company.
I believe all people should be treated with respect and have little time for those who patronise or look down on others or judge people by surface impressions. I'm an old fashioned Socialist and feminist and believe it should inform the way I live my life. My word is my bond and I do not like insincerity dishonesty or hypocrisy.

Interests

I am a freelance theatre director and love making theatre around the world. I also teach dance, sing in choirs, write (plays books) and organise events! I live in an old Victorian house with a big garden and share my home frequently with people in the arts. I love showing people round my adopted city of Manchester. I have 4 grown up children and two grandchildren. I have broad tastes in music but especially like Jazz and world music and I like world cinema and read voraciously. I usually have about 2 or 3 projects on the go but can handle multi-tasking quite well (like a lot of women). Active campaigner and social activist, support Stop the War, Amnesty and many other causes. Helped start a no. of charities.
