About Me

CURRENT MISSION

experience

ABOUT ME

I'm a student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, studying Commerce. My program is an intense co-op and there is no time off, different placements have me moving between Halifax and other cities each semester so I never really know where I'll end up. I have no idea why I'm in business, I find it interesting but I'm not sure it's my calling - just something to fill the void.
I moved around alot as a kid and I think that helped spark my passion for travel - I love new cities and cultures. Couchsurfing seems like the best way to get a taste of the local lifestyle and meet genuine, interesting people which is why I'm interested in it.
I have a taste for the finer things in life - good food and drink. I'm passionate about living and I want to live it to the fullest. I'm searching for my place in the world, and I draw my energy from the people I meet.

PHILOSOPHY

I just want to live a life rich with experience - whatever it may be. I want to share these experiences with people as they're happening and over a drink when I'm an old, crabby man.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I am in Halifax I will be more than happy to host people, but my current situation living does not enable me to do that. I haven't couchsurfed yet, but am looking forward to it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was 15 I did a month long tour biking across England, France, Italy and Greece...it consisted of sleeping in a few backyards and fields! My favourite nights are the ones where I don't know where I'll sleep - I'm sure most of you know what I mean!

Interests

music(especially live), any instrument I can get my hands on, foreign films/documentaries, "americana" style, hiking, camping, fishing, cooking, urban exploration, the outdoors, tattoos, photography, eating right and eating well, traditional medicine, eastern philosophy, meditation, fashion, martial arts, leather crafting, drinking, spontaneity

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - everything - new wave, hip-hop, house, punk, indie, jazz, pop, trip-hop, metal, world...seriously...whatever...I'd love to share music with you.
War movies, iconic movies (rebel without a cause, the wild one), anything foreign, mainstream, indie, nostream...I'll watch anything.
Books...no particular type of books or authors, but I've always got something on the go

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biked all day everyday for a month straight across Europe with nothing but a plane ticket home and a few things in a bag.
I hiked on the tundra of Nunavut, and saw a polar bear being skinned and hung to dry.
Traversed across northern Cuba on a moped delivering gifts to locals.
I've toured most of the eastern coast of the United States, all across Canada.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I don't know what I'm skilled at, but I am willing to teach whatever I can if you're willing to learn.
Learn: I want to learn what you love to do. Anyone passionate enough about something is usually down to teach it.
