Basically I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I'm living with family as I go back to college, which is why I can't host currently but will be able to once I'm out of school. I'm currently working towards nursing school, but might become a TEFL teacher overseas before going through the program...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had been planning on taking a trip to southeast Asia in spring of next year (which will most likely be put off for another year because of life and reasons) and found out about the idea of couch surfing through my researching/planning. It seems like a great way to make the most out of a trip - and potentially save some money, of course - and think it would be fun to be a host in the future, so here I am!
Full time school has chipped away at my time to indulge, but I love gaming and reading. I'm working towards being more physical and outdoors-y, mainly for the health benefits.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's cliche, I know, but I really will give anything a chance musically. I tend to listen to alternative rock more than anything because of the radio, via 98.7fm. I have a slew of stations on Pandora now though. I song hop on YouTube a lot. I have a major soft spot for old, old blues - Robert Johnson, and music from the 60's, 70's and 80's - Jimi Hendrix, ACDC, Queen, Jefferson Aeroplane, Joan Jett, Hozier...so many. Heather Alexander's songs, like March of Cambreadth and Cost of the Crown are great.
My favorite series are the Aliens quadrillogy and the Jurassic Park trilogy. And the Lord of the Rings. Doctor Who for television. Sunshine. Labyrinth. Dazed and Confused. After the Wedding. Cowboy Bebop. The Cave. The Descent. Y Tu Mamá Tambien. The Princess Bride. Touch of Evil. Oh so many more, and so many Sci-fi ones. Nature and science documentaries. Departures.
Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Congo - all by Michael Crichton. Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu. The 'All Creatures' books by James Herriot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I finished a full day of classes, including a 3 hour lab, and then drove more than 900 miles in order to see my sister graduate from nursing school. Surprised the crap out of her I think. Totally worth it!
Teach, Learn, Share
Cooking. I find food to be a very central thing for people, so I love to share and teach my favorites to others and to share and learn their favorites in return.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Language skills, if you're wanting to practice English. That will really depends on location in guessing. Discussions of all types - I love it and am hard to offend. Cooking skills as well, and I'm fairly good with baking too - I could help out or even cook/bake as a thank you. I clean up after myself even, and believe in leaving a place the same as it was or better off than it was when I arrived.
