ABOUT ME

I love the color green, I thoroughly enjoy hearing about other people's lives and their point of view on anything and everything, my two great passions in life are horses and photography (one day I hope to call myself a professional at one or the other, or both), I'm slowly learning about Buddhism and I enjoy it very much, I can be very shy and awkward - which leads to, I love pushing myself outside of my comfort zone (I think the opportunities to meet people through couch surfing will be fantastic), [good] surprises are one of my favorite things, I'm a vegetarian, I'm currently training to run my first half marathon in December (eek!), I believe in one MOMENT at a time... I don't live an extravagant life by any means, but I live a happy one, constantly exploring my world. :)

PHILOSOPHY

Every day is an adventure, to the extent which we allow it to be. I'm working on teaching myself to see (and seize) every possibility! I feel like we have been taught to keep to ourselves and go through the motions so much that we just end up "stuck", in the same patterns and routines year after year, and that's no way to live at all. I want to stop and think every day, and wonder what would make this day exceptional, memorable, meaningful, useful, just somehow out of the ordinary. I don't want to waste any of this precious time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Honestly I'll watch anything and everything, and I enjoy most of it. I'm a movie lover. However my all time favorite will always be Evita.

Music: Currently stuck on Vicci Martinez. If you haven't heard it you should give it a shot!

Books: Just finished "Why We Ride", a collection of short stories. Currently reading "Why Meditate?". Apparently I'm in questioning mode.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't had the opportunity to do much traveling just yet. The one moment that does stand out to me though was on a high school trip to NYC. It was not even a year after 9/11, and ground zero was still in progress of being cleaned up. It blew me away, and I can't even put into words what I felt standing there and thinking about what that day was like for so many.
