About Me

meet and know new people, share travel experience and explore the world

Hi Everyone,

Suddenly notice that I am NOT so new in CS and more, but still highly appreciate the concepts of CS.

I am an easy going girl. I like travel a lot and sports. Also, I enjoy cooking as well. (Don't let my parents know that, so that I can save some extra work.Plus I do enjoy what my Mom cook better.)

I grew up in China and traveled a lot there. I love to tour myself by train and bus. It is cheap and you get lots of chance to meet different kinds of people. Basically, I spent more then 250 hr on bus or train for my travel when I was in university. It is not the most pleasant thing, but definitely the valuable experience in my life. The reason I only choose the places in China to visit before, is I want to know more about my country before I go to other countries. As the Chinese saying mentioned, 知己知彼,百战百胜。To know the enemy and know yourself, and you can fight a hundred battles with no danger of defeat. Of course, traveling is not about the war, but it is never wrong to know more about your culture, your country and yourself.

I moved to Canada for school and now working as a Civil Engineering in training, to be precise, structural engineering in training. I like the environment here, since I am not type of person like the super crowded and chaos cities. I did lots of Hiking and Snowshoeing in Rocky Mountains, and since I moved to Edmonton, I did lots of running and biking around the cities as I don't get to go to the mountains as I used to.

After I did extensive travelling in China, I had the chance to get around in Canada and US. I did a round trip from some major cities in US from east coast to west coast in 2010. I have been in most of the major cities in Canada. I really enjoy the time in Montreal for the nice architecture, and the yummy food in Vancouver.

As heaven maintains vigor through movements,
a gentle man should constantly strive for self-perfection.
As earth's condition is receptive devotion,
a gentle man should hold the outer world with broad mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard this concept of couch surf before, but I didnt know CS until my friend told me he did it in his Europe trip. As he had a very good experience, he totally encourage me to try. During my trip in US, I surfed in DC, Miami and LA. I hosted couple people when I was in Calgary. I only hosted once in Edmonton, as it is not the most tourist attractive place.

My couchsurfing experience are great. I met some nice, funny people in my trip and thanks for all their consideration and help. It definitely made my trip way more enjoyable and open my eyes. Their hospitality also shape my mind and inspired me to become a better host whenever I can.
