ABOUT ME

We are 30+ years old outdoor-loving married couple from Finland. Last year we decided that now is the perfect time to hop off from the cycle and finally do the great big RTW trip we have so long dreamed of. We started our journey in June 2014 from South-America. Next stop was Australia. Our plan is to go around Eastern Australia (plan: Sydney-Brisbane-Magnetic Island-Cairns area-Adelaide-Melbourne) from 15.8. to 9.9.2014. Next we´ll go to be Tonga and then New Zealand. Rest of the year before we go back home we´ll explore South-East Asia (Indonesia, Borneo, Kambodza etc.).

Back at home I'm a elementary school teacher and my wife has worked many years as a manager, counselor and negotiator in the environmental business. She likes gardening, cooking and all kinds of furry animals - especially dogs. We have a English Toy Terrier.

WHY COUCHSURFING:
It´s always nice to meet locals, learn about their culture, share stories and hear the secret inside tips. Of course if people wish show us around or have a dinner or class of wine together its even better. Of course we admit that couchsurfing is also good way to cut down some travel expenses. Especially now when we are travelling for 7 months it´s quite important.
