enjoying life, enlarging the world - mine and others.
Hi, I'm Helene! I study social sciences in Berlin. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
Ps: If you are confused by the references, it's because this profile used to be a shared one between me and my best friend.
I'm pursuing emancipation, freedom, friendship and joy. I value tolerance, compassion and curiosity. I'm always interested in discussing philosophy, religion, politics and utopian visions :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've only hosted so far and met some wonderful people. Looking forward to try surfing some day :)
I'm very curious about most things, and love learning. I especially care for music, cooking and eating, summer, nail polish, quantum physics, beer, old books, sorting and organizing stuff, writing, riding my bike, herbal tea, shoes that are good for my feet, sleeping and dreaming, making people smile, music festivals, german grammar, reparing stuff, ice cream, sociology and cats!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I like ambitious, weird and tragicomic movies. I also like watching movies from around the world, not just USA and western Europe. In the funny department I prefer absurd and/or very silly humor like Monty Python, the Mighty Boosh or some bbc series like Greenwing or Black Books.
Music: I am a sucker for good old revival folk (like Pentangle or Cat Stevens) and prog rock (like Jethro Tull or Jefferson Airplane) from the 60es and 70es. I also like a lot of experiemental pop and rock music; mainly Kate Bush, David Bowie and Laurie Anderson. For dancing I prefer funk, soul, afrobeat or balkan/klezmer - a sweet rhythm and a lot of instruments please!
Books: I'd read just about anything. Classics are often a good pick. I like a good novel with a social, political or historical dimension. Recently "Beloved" by Toni Morrisson touched me deeply.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One year of living and doing art together with a hundred other teenagers when I was 15. Travelling. Doing an erasmus semester in Poland and meeting people from all over the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Danish, English and German. I can teach you how to play the flute, or maybe just how to make sound come out of it, which is the first big step!
I would love to learn more chords on the ukulele :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a pretty good (vegan) cook, if I may say so.
