ABOUT US

We are two girls from Germany that are always up for an adventure and a good time. Our current mission is to figure out what and who we want to be. We are both attending University in Berlin, Alissa is studying to become an elementary school teacher and Helene studies IT-System-Engineering. We are flatmates and have known each other since for ever. This summer we are visiting the lollapalooza festival in Berlin. We are looking forward to see Muse, Macklemore and all of the other gorgeous acts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is by far the best way to travel around the world and make tons of new friends along the way and dive into a new and exciting culture.

Interests

We enjoy an interesting conversation over some good food and a nice wine, listening to other peoples stories and tell some of our own. Love spending time in big buzzing cities but also treasure the peace and quiet of a lonely mountain top and sleeping under the stars. We love art and photography exhibitions, drawing and street art. There is nothing like a night of partying that makes you forget time and you only realise how it passed by when the sun is rising.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alissas favorite movie since her childhood is Marry Poppins. She likes the imagination of a perfect world in bad times. Her favorite books are all about mysteries and crimes - like Harry Holes cases from the author Jo Nesbo.

Some of Helenes favorite books are 1984, Brave New World, Der Steppenwolf (or anything by Herman Hesse really), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe and stuff by Milan Kundera

We enjoy all kinds of music like Bonobo, Moderat, Woodkid, Parov Stelar, Dirty Duering, Banks, Arctic Monkeys, Joris Delacroix, Paradis, Born Ruffians, Air, Ed Sheeran, BOY, Samuel Jon Samuelsson Big Band, Sam Smith, Seeed...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Alissa:
Working in a school with disabled children, who have the biggest joy of living, that i've ever seen.

Went to Prague and get an exam for a real beer expert - Always look on the beer side of life!

Join an exchange to Salamanca (Spain) and find the hidden frog at the facade of the University. That means luck for all exams in University life!

Helene:
Living in a chinese hostfamily when i was fourteen and getting to know their culture and traditions.

Getting lost in the great Kaukasus in Georgia, hiking through unbelievably beautiful landscape with glaciers on one, and colourful meadows on the other side

Teach, Learn, Share

We can teach you some georgian songs, how to do a cartwheel, make fire with wet wood, how to get into Berlin clubs...

We want to learn how to build the ultimate paperplane and improve our photography skills. And we want to learn how to say "I am hungry" in as many languages as possible. We just love (vegetarian) food..
