About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission? Well, I pretty much want to get the heck off of my couch so other people can get on it. I want to travel and I want to be around to help people, wherever they need it most. (i.e. not this country!) :-)
ABOUT ME
Oh you know, 5'11'', dark hair, green eyes, I mean........ Well, that stuff doesn't matter anyway. There's nothing I enjoy better on a cold rainy day than to go to a warm cafe or coffee shop with my friends and just chat, or sit by a fire and play spades. On a nice warm sunny day you'll find me out hiking in the woods, trying to find a secret hideout of societal outcasts......I'll admit, I haven't found many yet :-)
PHILOSOPHY
First of all I live my life (or I want to live my life) to bring honor to the name of Jesus. I believe that happiness will be found only in trying to make others happy. I think that people who try to better their own lives are fooling themselves, they need to start volunteering and giving of themselves for the sake of others, THAT is where they will find hapiness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've basically been traveling without a home for a lot of my life, but I can't say I really have done too much actualy couch surfing. Recently Some of my friends let me stay with them for free for a couple of months while I got situated, that was really nice.

Music, Movies, and Books
Wow, there is just SO much! I love stuff from the.....dude, I just about like all music, except for anything with saxaphone! I like the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and I love poetry. Movies? Well I'm game for just about anything.....once...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've ever done was to teach a class of 32, 2,3 and 4 year olds in rural South India for 8 months. When I started they didn't understand me and I didn't understand them. I was 19 and I only had a GED, but the people I was working with believed that I could do it so I tried. And I did succeed! At the end they were my children, they loved and respected me and they understood much of what I said. I was able to teach them everything they were expected to learn,(300 English vocabulary, the whole alphabet, numbers/counting through 20, and they didn't know ANY English to start with!)and I learned a lot of Tamil which was what they spoke. Yes, I intend to return someday...or if not there then somewhere else in some third world country.
