ABOUT ME

I think (I hope!) I'm pretty easy-going and open-minded. I like hearing other people's opinions and thoughts on things.
I've been living and working in East London for a few months now after some time away in New Zealand, India and a couple of other places. I'm enjoying being back in the UK! Though I miss Glasgow where I used to live - London is a pretty exciting city with loads to do: art and music events, parties, people from so many cultures, different areas of the city to explore with interesting streets and buildings.
I'm only going to be travelling on short trips for the next wee while...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My flatmates in Glasgow had various Couchsurfers to stay and it was always fun having them. I only just got my own flat again and am now in a position to do a bit of hosting myself!

Interests

I really mainly enjoy sitting around, drinking tea (or wine, or similar) talking with friends (and new friends!). As well as general nonsense, I'm interested in talking about politics, religion, social problems... but I won't pretend to be knowledgeable about these things! I generally really like to be sociable, but I can be shy. At times I love to go out dancing, and could dance for hours. I'm learning to play the cello again (again!), love watching films too (at the moment, I'm discovering all of Mike Leigh's films - very British I suppose, but not all grim!). I'm quite lazy.
I'm not into sport in general but I love hiking, and being outdoors in general. I've had a go at skiing recently.

I swam in the pond at Hampstead Heath last week... (for about 20 seconds!). Don't know if left me awestruck... more numb.
