Meeting wonderful people who pass through St. Louis, showing them our amazing city -- and planning my next adventure!
I'm a St Louis native who loves to travel and meet new people. Before moving back to St. Louis a few years ago, I spent more than a decade living in Buenos Aires, Boston, and Cleveland.
I'm a wholehearted follower of the golden rule, and I try to surround myself with people who do the same. :)I'm grateful for the challenges that I've faced because, each time, a better person has emerged from the struggles. I love travel because new people and experiences never fail to remind me just how much I still have to learn about the world and life."Life is a series of lessons which must be lived to be understood." -Emerson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting up at our St Louis potlucks and happy hours. I also enjoy getting together to explore part of the city. And, finally, my boyfriend and I are now in an apartment where we have enough space to host surfers!
I first got involved in CS while living in Buenos Aires and have continued to meet wonderful people through St Louis's CS community. :) I met many of my closest friends here!
Community development, playing music (currently trying ukulele), listening to music, dancing to music (swing, tango)... gardening, photography, drawing, practicing my Spanish, philosophy, lifelong learning.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music - listening to it and dancing to it and recently I've been getting back to playing it... I love live music, especially local musicians playing in small bars or house parties. Usually you'll find me listening to indie pop, swing, blues, a cappella, bluegrass, gospel, Broadway musicals, oldies, doo wop, crooners, folk, spanish guitar, classical...Movies: The King's Speech, Love Actually, The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de Motocicleta), When Harry Met Sally, Big Fish, old b&w classics, almost all musicals especially from their heyday: Singing in the Rain, Meet Me In St. Louis, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady...I just finished reading Tina Fey's "Bossypants" and it does not disappoint, from my perspective as an ambitious woman! Recently, a lot of my reading has been about teaching myself how to deal with the fears and roadblocks in my head that resist me creating my own path in life, something that I think is common among Couch Surfers, and the ones I would really recommend are "Learned Optimism", "Are You Ready To Succeed?" and "The War of Art." (I promise they're not as cheesy as they sound.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Zipped across a lush valley in Costa Rica, 600m up, with nothing between me and the treetops.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach, among other things: swing dancing, how to build websites & blogs, social media, computers. I can help with English and Spanish, too.I would love to learn more hands-on skills, like drawing, painting, gardening or building. I'm also interested in opportunities to use my Spanish skills to help others.I'm always happy to share stories about my life experiences because I hope I can provide encouragement and support - especially regarding living away from home, living abroad, traveling solo, and figuring out the role that work should play in my life.
