Overview
About Me
I'm 48, and I'm a very respectful and quiet person. I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I can enjoy a pint of beer or two, but I'm never ever drunk. I'm a positive and optimistic guy.
I love conversation and you'll find me to be very open-minded and friendly.
I work for french national tv, and I LOVE music. Although it's not a professional activity for me, it really is a passion. I can play guitar, bass, drums, a bit of keyboards.... but what I love the most is singing. :)
I can be both very independant and discreet, or talkative and involved. I think I can adapt my attitude depending of what is expected from a host.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The honest truth: My daughter is now a lucky student in Leeds University. :)
I want to be able to visit her a few times a year, without having to spend all my money doing so.
That being said, I'm a kind of an anglophile and I LOVE learning about British culture, British music, British people, the British way of life. So I'm all for sharing stories, experiences, discussing anything, really. I can also help you speak French, should you want to. ;)
I can also be of help looking after animals during my stay. I admit I am new to couchsurfing, so I'm willing to learn what can be done, really. Don't hesitate to ask questions, or suggest things.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: As a listener, I love pop, rock, jazz and classical. As a player I'm more of a pop, rock guy. (although I also used to play xylophone and vibraphone in an orchestra and loved it !).
I'm a huge Beatles fan, and 95% of the artists I'm listening to are British. (From Pink Floyd to Genesis, 10cc, King Crimson, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Radiohead, The Kinks, Joe Jackson...... it's a long list).
In jazz I love Chick Corea, John Coltrane and Miles Davies.
In classical I love 20th century composers such as Olivier Messiaen and Igor Stravinsky, but I also enjoy Brahms, Beethoven, Ravel and Debussy.
In books I'm currently reading all of Jane Austen, after having visited her house in Hampshire in July this year.
Otherwise I'm fond of strange and mysterious stories from authors like Stephen King, Tolkien. I also love the peculiar humor of Douglas Adams.
