I do not accept last minute requests. I require at least one week of notice to host. I do not host people with 0 references, and I generally do not host people who have never hosted themselves.
I dabble in many things. I especially love to cook and preserve food, and brew beer. I've been a vegetarian since about 2001ish. I host a ridiculous deviled egg competition every summer so I have an excuse to eat a dozen deviled eggs.
I also host Baltimore's premier board game happy hour, Brews and Board Games.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm an oldschool CSer but I don't host too much anymore, since the user base and site itself have changed so much. I will respond to your request if it is clear that you actually read my profile and you send a personalized request. I'm on here to meet people, not to be a free hostel.
"I want to stay with you because of what I read in your profile," is not a personalized request.

Music, Movies, and Books
WYPR (Baltimore Public Radio). I also like cute indie pop. Bonus points if it's from Sweden. I like pretty much everything that Mark Robinson has done.
Books: I like dystopian speculative fiction, clever humorists, and non-fiction books with good cocktail party trivia. I am also really into North Korea. (Not like, supportive. Just intrigued.) I have a Goodreads if you want to see what I'm reading.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Casa Rosso live sex theater in Amsterdam was certainly a sight. Especially sitting through it twice so I could write a paper about it.
