Living Life to the Fullest!
I'm a 55 year young adventurer. I'm always looking for that next fun trip which usually involves hiking, camping, backpacking, and meeting new people. I love the great outdoors, mountains, rivers, wildlife, wildflowers, vistas, listening to live music and dancing.
Life is what you make of it. There's a place for you the moment you enter this world, and begin your journey here. Live in the moment and enjoy each day for all that it brings.... Life is dangerous, live it anyway!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been surfing for six years now and I'm loving it. Actually, I was couch surfing before I ever knew it had a name and a website! I've met some really cool people out there through CS. The whole CS concept reinforces my belief that there are a lot of good people in the world. I've stayed many places on the couches of others, but have only just recently been able to host in my home. I'm a little limited in what I have to offer, but make it work out when I can.
I've been surfing for about six years now. I've stayed with folks in their early twenties, someone who is 70, and many ages in between. I've met some wonderful people and made amazing connections across this incredible, diverse country of ours.

Music, Movies, and Books
Edward Abbey is one of my all time favorites. I love his beautiful descriptions of the desert southwest, and even more his philosophy and the way he makes fun of society. I enjoy books about personal experience. More recently I've been into reading about the intelligence of plants- a fascinating subject! I love live music of almost any kind. Folk/ Singer/ Song Writer sorts, like Chris Smither, John Prine, Gillian Welch. And, I love music I can dance to. I recently discovered a new band: Scythian; I describe them as Rockin' Bluegrass with an Irish twist ; )
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2008 I drove across the US in my Ford Taurus. I spent three months living in my car and my tent, exploring, hiking, meeting people, having the adventure of a lifetime! And couch surfing before I even knew what it was!
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to teach people that humanity is good. There are so many good people out there. The few bad ones always make the news, but there are by far many more good ones!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A hike in Shenandoah National Park, a glass of wine or cup of coffee, fun conversation.
