About Me

Writing a weird fiction short story (well i gave up on that but maybe some day)

I'm a bit of a greeny (guess because i'm also an environmental sciences student) and spend to much time thinking about healthy food.. I love to travel to experience different cultures and natural as well as constructed environments. I'm not to excited about most touristy things (old buildings, rare animals in controlled environments, crowded beaches) and Party-culture (except if around the right people... i can have fun at a goa though i think). I love forests, the sea and good conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Writing increasingly minimalist references for surfers

Surfed a bit in Australia (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Tasmania), India (Mumbai, Pune, Hyderbad, Auroville, Coimbatore), Vietnam, Germany and Switzerland. Just moved into a flat where i can finally also host people.

Music, Concerts, Hiking, Nature, Tea, Food, Photography, Chess, Beaches, Forests, Deserts, Rollerskating, Poker, Magic: The Gathering (only for casual play), Maybe some Yoga. Also all kinds of board games (the geeky kind). Did i Mention Tea? Tea! also recently: Coffee. I also love to doodle.

Music, Movies, and Books

Postrock, Jazz, (Modern) Classical, Electronica, Drone, Doom, Zheul, Krautrock, Kosmische Musik, Outsider Music, Current 93 :), Worldmusic (esp. Gamelan and Tuvanian stuff)

For partying i prefer minimal techno, breakcore, and psytrance or screamo and post-hardcore if its live music. Metal if its black enough.

Miike, Lynch, Fassbinder, Herzog, Cronenberg, Tarkowsky, Kurosawa, Silent Movies

Heinlein, Bukowsky, Poe, Jared Diamond, Dune, Lovecraft, Ligotti, Murakami, Vidal. A Song of Ice and Fire. Current Mission: Understanding Gene Wolfe

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I experienced a pretty big earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand. On a different occasion, I wore a dead jellyfish as a hat. Also, I once wore a dead starfish as a hat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to talk about tea, and given the right ingredients i can make pretty awesome veggie burgers.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, China, Germany, India, Laos, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Switzerland
