About Me

We are just enthusiasts of home design, furniture, decor, and architecture. I love browsing on the internet for ideas. For example here is an excellent source: https://www.atelierlane.com/pages/interior-design-hk
It all started when I bought my first home. It was an exciting moment but I quickly realized that taking the empty space and making it a comfoting space was no walk in the park.
It took me many trial and errors to finally find what worked for me and my family. From there, I started getting obsessed with designing interiors.
I began reading extensively and also took classes on the "science" part of things.
As part of designing my own home, I also found that furniture that I could find in stores would never be quite "right." I may like the design but then the size would usually be either too big or too small. Maybe I like the shape and size but the color would be off or the material was not to my liking.
After looking at countless pieces at furniture stores, a friend of mine introduced me to custome furniture.
Quite a few stores offer this service; however, they usually come at a hefty price tag.
At first it was a little risky but I managed to get introduced to a supplier/manufacturer, where I could communicate directly with the makers.
It took quite a lot of back and forth but in the end I got exactly what I wanted.
If time is an issue for you and you want someone to be able to blame if the final result isn't what you expected, I advise speaking with a store that can be the middleman between you and the manufacturer.
However, if you are like me and like the process, give it a go. It will take time but it will save you money.
Once you know how to source and make the furniture for your home, decorating your home becomes a lot easier.
You no longer have to look for the pieces you need. You can simply just make them.
We also recommend getting a interior design software which makes a rough model for you in front of your eyes. This is quite fun to play around with and gives you a good idea of what to expect before you actually implement the designs.
