About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To better myself and my art through life experience

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Houston, and I'm a poet. No, seriously. It's what I do for a living! ...well, what I'm trying to do for a living, anyway. I travel around competing in Poetry Slams and doing features and workshops. I also play music; I've been playing drums for ten years now, and I'm working on learning guitar (just like everyone else, right?).

I travel often to poetry events across the country; most of the time that's what I use this site for. I also love to put on house shows, so if you're interested, we can make some art happen in your own home. :)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Mostly to help travel to new places and spread art!

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I reached finals stage at the 2010 Individual World Poetry Slam, and am now ranked as one of the top 12 performance poets in the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I always love to share my poetry, and I've done a number of poetry and writing workshops, so I'm qualified to help people in that way.
