ABOUT Me
I was ordained as a Buddhist monk at 13 and spent 10 years as a monastic before deciding to disrobe. Since then, I’ve embarked on transformative journeys, traveling through Germany, Mexico, the USA, Canada, and Norway without money or fixed destinations.
I’ve walked the 88-Temple Shikoku Pilgrimage in Japan and the Camino de Santiago (900 km) in Spain and France. These experiences, along with incredible encounters through Couchsurfing, have profoundly shaped me.
Academically, I hold a diploma from the Buddhist Pali University of Sri Lanka, a B.Sc. in Psychology and Neuroscience (Maastricht University), and an M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology (Groningen University). Currently, I’m completing a clinical apprenticeship in psychiatry and pursuing another master’s in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology at the University of Bern.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was the youngest European monk ordained.
I taught meditation at MIT.
I almost died in a Mexican desert.
I camped under the Northern Lights in Norway with summer clothes and a tent—and almost died there too.
I’ve met the Dalai Lama, Thích Nhất Hạnh, and the Karmapa in person.
I was an attendant for Ajahn Brahm.
I’ve explored Big Sur, Sequoia, and many other incredible national parks—I love the outdoors!
I’ve hitchhiked through North America.
I worked on a rescue farm in the Mexican jungle.
I’ve seen grizzlies and brown bears up close.
I built a space truck that made it to Burning Man.
I’ve experienced what it means to have nothing and still feel happy, vulnerable, and at peace.
And plenty more stories to share—let’s talk about them someday!
