About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore myself and the world through filmmaking

ABOUT ME

I'm notoriously bad at describing myself.
I love to have a good time, sometimes at the expense of taking anything at all very seriously.

I'm a student, a server, and I'm trying to nurture my own creativity in the midst of it all.

PHILOSOPHY

Something lame like "live, laugh, love," and "don't sweat the small stuff," but, more than anything, "live and let live and try to have a positive impact"

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My friend and I have done most of our hosting/surfing through his account to date (http://www.couchsurfing.org/people/ajstumpp). But I'm catching up!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To date, our hosting experiences have been awesome! We've had some of the best surfers.

We've surfed twice: once in Valencia and once in Barcelona. In Valencia, it was bittersweet: our host forgot about us and left us stranded on the beach. A beautiful view of the ocean, but bitterly cold with no way back into the city. In Barcelona, we stayed with an older lady who really wanted my boyfriend to buy her a houseplant.

Interests

Film and Television (and theory)
Filmmaking
Gender and Sexuality

Music, Movies & Books

I'm pretty open to all kinds of music, I have a soft spot for 80s music, doowop, and 90s country. My favorite bands are Blonde Redhead, Broken Social Scene, and CocoRosie

My favorite movies span all genres: Imitation of Life, It Happened One Night, City of God, Rules of Attraction, Vicky Christina Barcelona. I like really bad horror films and campy films, too.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

The most amazing thing is the immense possibility at the beginning of every trip. The anticipation before you arrive at the airport(or bus station) and feeling the plane take off...

Teach, Learn, Share

I do hospitality well and I like it when people treat my home as their own. I'd like to learn more about people in general. I like meeting people who are open books: interested and interesting.

Countries I've Visited

France, Morocco, Spain

Countries I've Lived In

United States
