About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Producing my heart out and from now on, travel as much as I can. I heard there're more countries than the Netherlands on this planet :O

ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing, easygoing guy and I love making and listening to music. I love to laugh. I can be a bit sarcastic at times to lighten things. Don't need to be so serious all the time now do we? :) I can be pretty energetic but I love to relax too. Like having a interesting conversation or watch a good (or extremely bad) movie. I'm never bored. Always something to do, like making music. I want to share experiences with people. During my study I didn't have the time nor the money to travel and meet new people from different countries. But now I do, and I can't wait to go ahead and travel as much as I can.

Tings I like: Making music, watch movies/tv series, play (board)games, taking a walk during beautiful weather, going out to clubs, dance (which I'm horrible at by the way, but that's half the fun right?) and doing impulsive, fun things.

PHILOSOPHY

Try to see the irony or fun in things, good or bad. Experiences, good or bad, make you who you are. Don't try to forget; embrace them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet. But I love the concept already!

Interests

First and foremost: music. Listening to music, play (bass)guitar, write songs, produce electronica, soundscapes and techno/progressive. I like to work on different kinds of music. There's just so much to explore.

Movies, games, card and board games, and my ambition is to add traveling to this list. Next stop (this summer): Reykjavik!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Coen brother movies (The Big Labowski for example), Tarantino movies, , sci-fi (!) and every now and then I have a horror movie night with a couple of friends.

Music: Too much to put up here. But some examples: Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Simeon ten Holt, Boards of Canada, Bonobo, Autechre and other electronica, Rage against the Machine, techno (Speedy J amongst many others), The Black Dog, The Beatles, Jaga Jazzist, Oceansize, Tortoise, Supergrass, Radio Citizen, etc. etc.

Books: I'm a bit ashamed to say that I'm not much of a reader. I do like to read though, but somehow I almost never do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Playing at Noorderzon in Groningen (the Netherlands) with my former band 'Jean parlette'. It was the mainstage of this festival and we played in front of this pond in the middle of a park, with crowd sitting at the sides and back. It was special and really peaceful to play like that.

Whe I think of it, playing with that band throughout the Netherlands was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done.

When I was studying in Leeuwarden I was standing outside of my room on the roof while it was getting dark. The sun was almost gone and this created a very bright purple reddish light. Trees seemed to be lit up and the leafs where so bright greenish yellow like I've never seen before. There were so many colors everywhere because of this lighting. It's a bit hard to explain, but it was amazingly beautiful.

The Notwist live in Doornroosje. It was pure perfection.
