Overview
About Me
Hey there,
my name is Ilona and I am 27 years old. I am from Germany and I used to study educational studies at the university of Münster. Now I am finished and soon starting an internship in Scotland. I like to travel. Over the last years I have been travelling mostly in Europe. I often stayed in hostels, because I like meeting up with people from all over the world. I am a very open and sociable person and I am very interested in other countries and cultures, traditions and habits. In my freetime I love to do some sports, like swimming or running, cooking, going for a walk, meeting friends and lots more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Yes, why am I here? Basically because a good friend of mine gave me the advice to try on couchsurfing, beause I am looking for a place to stay, when I will move to Glasgow at the beginning of february. It would be nice to meet some locals directly at the beginning of my stay and that I have some time to organise, where to live there.
Interests
I am interested in other countries, people, sports, cooking, reading, doing some knitting when I have time and watching documentaries. I also like being in the nature. Taking a dog from the animal shelter for a walk or just go hiking myself.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to listen to the radio. My music taste is very open. I really do like Sting, Santana, music from Gotan Project and Nelly Furtado for example. I really like to go out for dancing and there is no better music for me to dance on than Salsa or Reggaeton music.
My favorite book is from Diana Gabaldon "Outlander". Reading used to be one of my favorite hobbies, but since I am studying it got a little less (thanks to boring university texts, I had to read).
Movies I like are "In your hands", "A good year", "Inglorious basterds", "8Uhr28", just to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This summer I walked the Camino de Santiago. It is one of the most famous pilgrimages. It was a great experience to walk nearly 1000 of kilometres through Spain. And I walked them all, through all the big cities until I arrived in Santiago de Compostella and afterwarts in Fisterra.
