I grew up in one of the most amazing and beautiful places in the world, the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It's where I learned to love all of my favorite things- the beach, bike rides, great food, paddle boarding, and partying like your on a never ending vacation. I am forever thankful to this wonderful place. I left for 4 years and moved to Raleigh, NC where I completed my bachelors degree. After graduation I came home and got a "9 to 5" for about 9 months. I ended up discovering what I think most young adults do.....that lifestyle is not fun. I quit my job and became a mate on a fishing boat with my boyfriend (now fiance). We spent the next few years working insane hours on the boat during the summer season and traveling away from home in the winter. That is when I discovered that my life needs to be filled with more awesome adventures. We met up with my sister in Peru for a 3 week backpacking trip and then spent 5 weeks in a little apartment on an island (Isla Mujeres) in Mexico. The next winter we went to the Florida Keys with a few friends where we went fishing, snorkeling, and margarita drinking for months! It was a blast. Now I am back home in Nags Head working as a server at a really great restaurant and my fiance is working as a full time musician. We are both looking forward to lots of future adventures!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I read a quote that is so simple but it spoke to me at this time in my life. "I just want to go on adventures. Be around good energy. Connect with people. Learn new things. Grow." That pretty much sums up why I am signing up on couch surfing. I want to go on adventures but I also want to connect with people and learn from people. I also would love to facilitate helping someone else's adventures happen if they are led to the OBX during their travels. I see this as a way to make your travel experiences a lot more interesting! (Or at the very least just to have a place to crash when needed.)

Interests

Being outside makes me happy. The beach is my place of peace. I enjoy riding bikes, paddle boarding, hiking, swimming in the ocean, reading, eating out and cooking at home, throwing parties, volunteering, bon fires, and trying new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Graduate from college and not get sucked into a life of 9-5 hell in a job that makes me miserable. Most of my friends did it and I could have to. I was brave enough to leave my salaried job and go back to seasonal work when I realized that it allows me to live a pretty amazing life where adventure and happiness are possible.
