About Me

Hi! My name is Franck, I'm a French 27-year-old man and I have been living in Paris for 4 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I subscribed a while ago but never actually tried the couchsurfing experience.
My flat is too small to be able to host anyone in Paris, but I will hopefully have something bigger in the future so that I can host and make new encounters.

I updated my profile because I am going to a music festival in Saint Malo this summer and I have mixed feelings about choosing the camping option. I'm hoping I can find some music enthusiast couchsurfers that are also going to the festival!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:

- Mostly indie rock, although I like discovering new genres. Some of my favourite bands: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Arcade Fire, PJ Harvey, Modest Mouse, Fugazi, The Fall...
- I enjoy going to concerts, usually once or twice per month. The best concert I ever attended was Godspeed You! Black Emperor in 2015.
- I also enjoy "blind tests", i.e. team music quizzes that usually take place in bars in which you have to find the name of the artist of a song that is played.

TV series:

I spend a significant time before my computer watching tv series, and have watched quite many. Some of my favourite shows: Chuck, Peaky Blinders, The Good Wife, Breaking Bad, Modern Family, The Mentalist, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Kaamelott...

Books:

I do not read quite as much as I used to, but my favourite literature is fantasy with writers such as Robin Hobb, David Gemmell, Raymond E. Feist, Brent Weeks, Terry Goodkind, Jacqueline Carey...
My own personal favorite: The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. MUST-READ. And I definitely advise his facebook page, where Patrick always shares interesting or funny stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- One day as I was on the train to Paris, I convinced my neighbor (whom I had never met before) to buy "The Name of the Wind", one of my favourite book, for her husband's birthday. That is how much I like this book.
- I kissed the singer of a band I like very much after a friend of mine, a huge fan of the band as well, dared me to do so.

Teach, Learn, Share

- I am really interested in the science of learning. There is one interesting MOOC on this subject on coursera called "Learning how to learn". Maybe I can give you some tips!

- I'm not sure anyone does that anymore, but I am quite good at penspinning if you want to learn. Okay, maybe not such a useful skill.
