About Me

CURRENT MISSION

:o)

ABOUT ME

I'm a masters student in Neuroscience at the University of Birmingham, England. Before coming to grad school, these past few years I've been traveling around the world. After doing a tour of South America (I am from Bolivia) with some friends, my next stop was Asia, where I lived and worked. (Beijing and Hong Kong). I'm pretty new to couchsurfing, but have met and stayed with a couple couchsurfers before, which I now consider some of my greatest and most generous friends, so I'd love to meet more :o)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed a couple times. The first time, I stayed with a very nice couple from St. Louis, Misouri. Unfortunately that was under my old profile, and I no longer have access to that account. Anyway, Claire and her boyfriend introduced me to some other couchsurfers from St. Louis, and after that I joined the local Couchsurfing group and later, the Beijing Couchsurfing group. The second time was when I moved to Hong Kong with no idea where to stay or what to do. My couchsurfing hosts gave me a place to stay and even referred me to the job I ended up working at for several months. I will always be grateful to them for that.

Interests

Besides the cliched traveling, I enjoy other things which I suppose are equally cliched in their own way, lol: learning things, jazz music, playing frisbee, dancing, going on endless Youtube video chains, making movies (a relatively new hobby), writing, making new friends, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently I've enjoyed Edge of Tomorrow with the actor who never ages, the one and only Tom Cruise. Interstellar was also amazing and gave me new respect for Matthew Mconaghoweveryouspellhislastname. I once took a silent film class and it was really cool to learn a little more about film history. Woman of The World was a....gem, I guess is one way of putting it. You'll have to see it yourself. Oh, and of course, who doesn't like a good reality show amirite? No? Oops.

Music: into Jazz, used to be in my school's jazz band and play the trumpet

Books: currently reading Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
