To live life joyously and be an authentic person.
I thought it would be cool to ask some of my best friends to give me 3 or 4 words to describe me so couch surfers could hear how my friends see me. They all said positive things so I am grateful that I have such nice friends. These are the words they gave me...adventurous, natural, kind, pure of heart, delightful, spiritual, cheerful, positive, supportive, creative, fun, pixieduster, authentic, and earthy. I describe myself as someone that is adventurous and loves the outdoors but also likes to sit at home and hang out with my dogs. I like to watch movies listen to music, and soak up the sun by the pool. Love to ride my bike to the beach, to restaurants, or out on a trail. Love hanging out with friends listening to live music while enjoying a good beer or being out solo exploring new places, experiencing new things and meeting new people.
Live joyously, learn, and grow spiritually.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hosted 3 couch surfers. It was a magical experience. Really nice to learn and share. Then met up with a couch surfer staying at the beach. Played the part of a tour guide and shared some of my favorite things to do and see in Sarasota.
I love adventure, nature, really good healthy food, and authentic people. I enjoy doing things that get my body moving. I love the beach, the desert, and the mountains. I love to swim, boat, and soak in the waters of the gulf as well as hiking or biking on mountain trails. I'm happiest when I can take my dog with me and explore. I also enjoy spiritual dance, NIA, kundalini yoga, gong meditation, and early mornings working out on the beach (well maybe not so much enjoy the workouts but I like what the workouts give me). My body, mind, and spirit feel best when I am feeding it organic, whole food. I eat a vegan/vegetarian diet at home, but also enjoy seafood.

Music, Movies, and Books
Watched A Big Year recently. I thought that was a funny movie with an important message. Favorite band is Counting Crows, favorite song is Van Morrison Into the Mystic. I read books that I can learn from. Spiritual or Organic Food related.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went on a trip to Guatemala, a very magical place. I had amazing experiences that have stayed with me. One of those experiences I was meditating in front of an alter built for the Mayan goddess Ixchel. Part of what she is connected with is being the goddess of medicine. Because of her I started eating organic food and was lead down a path of a mostly vegan diet and eventually incorporated an organic living vegan menu in a restaurant that I am a part of. I believe what Hippocrates said, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” That same day I went ziplining over the Guatemala jungle. The energy I experienced being up in the trees with the monkeys zipping from one platform to the next was so magical.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little bit about food and nutrition. Everyone has their idea about what healthy food is and we all go through different stages of what our body needs. I try to prepare pure, organic, plant based meals at home. I would love to share that. I live close to the water and can share the beautiful waters of the gulf of Mexico by paddle board or my little Boston Whaler. I would love to learn more about many things...the outdoors, mysticism, diving (I'm a diver but haven't gone diving in awhile), herbs, organic gardening, music, there is so much I would like to learn I'm open to new things and adventure. I would love to be able to go somewhere and go horseback riding, skiing, mineral spring soaking...
