One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Let's see . . . Visiting the Atacama Desert in northern Chile and climbing into the mountains outside the tiny village of San Pedro de Atacama (in a van, not on foot!) and gazing at a landscape both exquisitely barren and unbelievably beautiful. I managed to overcome altitude sickness and snap several photos of the landscape, but I don't need the images I captured on film because the memory of that place is forever etched in my mind's eye.

Another experience: Viewing the murals that Diego Rivera painted in a small chapel on the grounds of the Universidad Autonoma de Chapingo near Texcoco in the State of Mexico. What a marvelous modern interpretation of pre-Hispanic myths and legends!
