I am a literature student currently traveling through Europe, on my way to several conferences to present at. I recently graduated from university in Massachusetts and, after working at a bookstore in New York for a year, am now heading off to travel. I like to write and read a lot, and meet and learn about new people. I enjoy drinking with friends and exploring alleyways and parks and coastlines.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My ideal way to travel is to meet people who are from the area you are staying in, so that you can get a real everyday feel of the city, rather than just an outsider's tourist perspective. I think one of the exciting ways to resist the isolation and xenophobia that can arise from the modern technological world is to use this technology to be able to reach out in new ways to new people whom you would otherwise not meet, and I think Couchsurfing is a great way to foster relationships, connections, and mutual exchange in a way that is very beneficial to both host and guest.
