To experience as much of France as I can in the next year
I've just moved to Avignon, France where I'm working as a language assistant in a high school, as part of my year abroad for my degree in French.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've only joined CouchSurfing recently as a way to meet people in my new city in France and I'm hoping to be able to start hosting people here very soon!
Travelling, cooking, shopping, reading, hiking, jumble sales and second-hand shops, writing, meeting new people, treasure hunts, cycling, blogging.
Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is fairly general; a lot of what's in the charts, anything I can dance to, mixed with bits of folk, jazz, ska... things I grew up listening to I guess.
I confess that I'm a chick-flick lover! My favourite film is Baz Luhrmann's 'Romeo & Juliet' and I love watching typical girl-meets-boy movies that are cute and funny... BUT I'm trying to broaden my viewing horizons a bit with films like 'The Lives of Others', and I ought to watch more French films like 'Entre les Murs', which I loved.
I looooove reading and when I'm not busy with French literature for my degree I'm happy with a good novel. Favourite books include the Great Gatsby, Pride & Prejudice, anything by Jaclyn Moriarty, and I recently read A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz, which was amazing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Mount Kenya in 2007 - totally amazing!
