Overview
About Me
Hello, I'm Jorge! I am deeply passionate about music, despite not working as a performer or in the industry. I'm a great bass player (upright and guitar), decent ukulele-ist and also own a resonator guitar and electric guitar (which I'm still learning :)
I am also very interested in social justice. I love talking to others about their perspectives, if just to clarify my own. I'm amiable, believe love can conquer all and fond of good food, good conversation, good drinks (beers or margs!) and English Bulldogs.
I can also talk fairly knowledgeably about tech / media / other assorted sectors, as that's what I spend all day thinking about at work, haha.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to travel around different cities when given the chance, but as I take off so abruptly, I end up flying solo. I think this would be a perfect way to meet like-minded people in my journeys to share our respective interests, perspectives, etc.
Interests
Music, listening or playing (especially rhythmic or bass-heavy music, including funk, salsa / Latin, classical, classic rock, roots...). Critical race theory and issues relating to gender, as well as those affecting the LGBTQ community. Finding good restaurants-at cheap prices!- or playing around with recipes, though I'll admit my culinary repertoire is not toooo expansive. Finding out-of-the-way places to hang out at. And, last but certainly not the least, finding good coffee shops to hang out and do work at.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music right now is honestly a hodge-podge of things ranging from psychedelic funk to brazilian samba and classic rock! My favorite movies tend to be like "Goodfellas" or the "Godfather", though "Dreams" by Akira Kurosawa is the exception. Books I like non-fiction but I suddenly developed a thing for Shakespeare plays.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my recitals, I guess:

Teach, Learn, Share
My ukulele is my traveling partner and I love doing sing-alongs (which the instrument's very suited for!), and I could probably teach my host the instrument. I am also likely to bring my resophonic, and though I cannot play it as well, could probably make little songs. I can also cook, and would love to treat my host / s.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My gratefulness, some music (youtube or live!) and hopefully some new insights or perspectives.
