moving on up
I am most myself when curled up in a comfy chair half-way through my third cup of black coffee. Though I've loved dabbling in the arts all my life (vocal music, theater, drawing, painting) I settled into more scholastic pursuits and left college with a head full of grammar and history. I am a huge nerd (and so are most of my favorite people). I'm more of a city person than an outdoorsy person, but every once in a while I crave a good mountain vista and a night sky unpolluted by city lights. I'm definitely a cat person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted, been hosted, met for coffee and drinks - always a good experience!
I am most happy because I have made really great FRIENDSHIPS through CS! That is enough reason to believe in the project :D
I've got a soft spot for German history and culture due to studying the language so long. Actually, I'm interested in languages in general..next on the list to learn is French, for research purposes mostly. And because France is sweet.
Of course as an art history student I am always one to hit up the local art museums or get a little too excited by a city's architecture. And I really REALLY love the performing arts, and try and go to shows whenever I can - bring on the opera or musical theater!
Music, Movies, and Books
Amelie, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, Graham Swift's Waterland, J.D. Salinger's Glass family stories, Joss Whedon, Battlestar Galactica, Before Sunset, Princess Bride, Doctor Who, Dexter, 30 Rock, Mad Men...But it's not what you like, it's what you're like, right?
But actually I'm a lot like Liz Lemon...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I taught on a school that was actually a boat. On the Danube!
Teach, Learn, Share
I will, er...teach you the lyrics to Disney songs in German!...or English, if you don't know them yet ;)
I could also talk to you about how I want to go to grad school to study relics and reliquaries, but that seems to make some folk a wee bit uncomfortable.
