About Me

Hello!! Hong Kong native, American educated. Most recently moved to Dublin for work...
City girl at heart, but recently decided I like the slower-pace of small (beach) towns..

I love meeting new people, I love trying out new foods [seriously, there will be nothing I won't try:)], and I love getting to know and understand different cultures and people, ways of life.

Always have an open mind and open heart. There is always something you can learn from every person in any situation/ place. We should never judge anyone before we get to know them, or judge something before we'd even tried it ('bizarre' foods included)!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Came back from a 2 month backpacking around the Philippines and did my first couchsurfing there. I have to say I am an even bigger fan of CS now.... lets make this Earth one big open home!!

One word: Awesome!
The best part is really meeting so so so many lovely fellows who love life and travel. Hearing about others' travel experiences just revs me up and feeds my travel wanderlust!

-Traveling :O)
-Jamming seshs, or just sitting participant haha
-Water Sports (Paddle-boarding, scuba diving, sailing, snorkeling)
-hiking (bushwhacking, stream hiking)
-Fashion & lifestyle & cooking & travel/ photography/ graphics/design blogs
-human behavior &social psychology
-jazz music, esp live
-Broadway musicals
-night life(in small doses)!
-eating, drinking, eating, and eating!! I love hole-in the-wall, authentic "local" places [I get all kinds of food cravings, not just a "sweet tooth" but crave salty, spicy, even tangy/sour foods at times :P]
-exploring off the "beaten tracks" - I usually prefer not to go to the 'tourist spots' but to discover my own

Music, Movies, and Books

Loved the trilogy by Stieg Larsson (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo etc.) - I couldn't put the books down!. Usually I like self-help books, or books about psychology - the human mind/ behaviors are just so interesting to me!! (yea, my studies have kept me a nerd for life)
I love all kinds of music, depending on my mood - but you can never fail me with jazz, particularly with some Ella Fitzgerald. Oh, if only she were still alive!
Other than jazz, Jack Johnson is probably my all-time favorite musician. And if you ever want to get me to dance, nothing fails like some good latin music ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one??? Life is too short for just one!!

Going on a helicopter ride atop and in between the Grand Canyon; going river rafting on the rivers of South Island, New Zealand;
snorkeling/swimming with whale sharks; diving with thresher sharks!
Spending Christmas weekend in the home of a family of complete strangers, on Camiguin Island, Philippines.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play piano, guitar, ukelele, harmonica, lil bit of Latin dance (ChaCha, Salsa, merengue), YOGA!, paddle boarding, sailing basics, American culture/ lifestyle, and travel adventure stories! :)

Countries I’ve Visited
