ABOUT ME

I am a travel addict, but I've been trying to curb my ways for the past few years so I can concentrate on cinematography & trying to make a living from filmmaking. It a work in progress & I'm still taking several trips a year.

I work freelance as a drama, film, language arts, pop culture & journalism teacher here in Hong Kong serving mainly local Chinese schools, helping them run programmes that are a fun & interesting way for the kids to use their English skills.

Just started actual surfing not couch surfing this past summer in Bali and I'm addicted although probably the worst surfer in the world.

I'm Scottish and I currently live in Hong Kong in a tiny studio room so I can save my money for traveling.

Haven't made it to South America or the African continent yet! LOL!

I love dance, music, reading, Sci-fi, adventure, food and movies.

I think life is all about experiences. Whatever your beliefs are, in the end your experiences & your loves are the only things that you will have forever, everything else will come & go.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't tried CSurfing yet, I want to give it a go this summer in the USA. When I return to Hong Kong I'm moving out to a more rural area where I can find a bigger apartment and offer a room for fellow CSers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Sorry to those people who sent messages back in 2008 when I first joined! I didn't have a computer of my own & totally forgot about this great site, I'm back & looking forward to meeting new people & showing them around this fabulous city!

I haven't had a CS experience yet. How early should I contact someone about staying with them?

The Count Of Montecristo is one of my favourite books. Also;
The Lord of the Rings, His Dark Materials and anything by John Steinbeck.

My music taste is ecclectic; Prince, Chili Peppers, P.O.D, Eminem, Linkin Park, Sara Barellies, Simply Red, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumkins, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, New Kids On The Block.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow! It's kind of a blur these days...hmmm. One of the most interesting things I've seen was a Tibetan sky burial where they lay the body out on the mountain side and the vultures eat it. Yeah...it was pretty intense.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach photography skills, video editing skills & how to finally work that damn video camera!

I can't cook to save myself, but like to chop & mix & clean up! - haven't even had a kitchen in 10 years.

Also I'm pretty good at planning independent, budget travels around the world, from booking cheap flights to finding places to stay & traveling around in different countries in unusual ways / routes esp. Asia.
