To live, love, laugh my way through the challenges of life.
At this point in time, I am an armchair traveler only, but hope to soon be in a position to travel for real. I'm on the computer at least 7 hours a day, emailing, Facebooking, researching, and playing games.
I know what I don't know and am not afraid to ask so I DO know. I've learned that fast is slow and slow is fast when it comes to doing something right the first time. I've also learned that holding the fuzzy end of the lollipop can still result in a sweet reward.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted several times, but am looking forward to meeting many more people from around the globe. I live with my sister, in a very small house, but in the summer there is a vacation trailer for guests to use.
The couchsurfers I have met have all been so friendly and interesting. I really enjoy learning about other countries and customs.
Computer, reading, old smooth jazz music (Diana Krall, Michael Buble, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, etc)

Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite movie is "Something's Gotta Give" with Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton.
I enjoy reading and doing crossword puzzles. I also enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles online.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every day is amazing and holds the opportunity for adventure!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love different cultures and languages, and have learned a smattering of words in many languages... Arabic, Swedish, Icelandic, Hindi, Spanish, Italian. I took French and German in high school over FORTY years ago.. but I can still recall some vocabulary. I took a course in American Sign Language for the deaf, and can manage to communicate, but not very fast.
I love to teach local idioms and expressions of speech to visitors from other countries.
I love to share stories of my amazing mother, who was so young at heart, and kept up with the times in everything....who learned how to paint (in oils) when she was 76, and who started using the computer at age 80, and used it right up to the time she died at age 93.
