About Me

Hi Everyone,

I am a currently in the Philippines working for a Volunteer organisation building homes & schools for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. I have been here for a year now and am looking for a new experience. I am looking to get to know destinations properly and want to be involved in the local culture as much as possible. I do not drink or smoke so I am not away to party I am purely travelling for the experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I see no better way of getting to know areas around the world than staying with the local community. It really excites me to try the local cuisine an get to know some real local people. I have had some of the best experiences with local Filipinos since I have stayed here and I want to continue to get to know locals from other countries as much as possible.

Interests

I have a real love for adventure and new experiences.
I am a Scuba diving enthusiast and have a real passion for sports & being active. This is also mainly due to the fact I have to burn off so many calories with the amount of local food I consume.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I am a bit of an all rounder but I really love artists like Paolo Nutini, Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran and any other acoustic guitar artists.

Movies: I love a great documentary but i am a sucker for an action movie but nothing with the Cliché Bruce Willis & Arnie films

I am a big expedition/adventure fan so any books by Adventurers for about expeditions is my real favourite

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing i have done is in the past year.
Helping the victims of both an Earthquakes & the massive typhoon Yolanda that hit last Nov 8 2013.
I have had the chance to program manage the rebuild of a school from start to finish and also managing the build of over 120 new homes for victims of the biggest storm ever record.
