CURRENT MISSION
Explore South America
ABOUT ME
My lightest travel bag would include running shoes, socks, a sports bra and shorts with my contact solution and toothbrush. When I'm somewhere new, a 45 minute run will help me acclimate, feel comfortable and ground me. If you find me in the kitchen, I might be baking a quiche or cookies, or throwing together guacamole and some enchiladas. I love to cook, bake and share food with friends!
My younger sister is creative and compassionate, I'm logical and analytical. I've been starting to realize that I connect people and am spinning an international web of people and experiences that has already seen some overlap. Weird.
I left my lovely teaching job in the States that promised stability, a monthly check, a 401k and personal days off to teach private English classes in a country that has more 3 and 4 day weekends than work days.
I ride my bike as much as possible, eat meat and forget about laundry that is drying outside.
PHILOSOPHY
Follow my gut and the beat of my heart. The profoundly deep desire to do something takes control and has felt right each time I follow it. Running my first marathon. Moving to Phoenix with Teach for America. Studying abroad in college in Santiago. Quitting my teaching job in Denver to move to Santiago.
I love experiencing life with my family and friends and meeting new friends through travel or circumstance. Be flexible, be patient and be open to an adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being at Macchu Picchu was breath-taking and consuming. The energy, the view, and the history surrounded me and it was fascinating.
It might be corny, but when I see my family and friends joyful and comfortable after struggling to get there, I feel happy for them.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach math. For real. So, if you want to know how to look smarter when the bill comes and people are afraid of splitting the bill - talk to me.
I've got some knowledge in South American travel and being semi-ready for traveler's sickness.
We can talk about the broken public education system in the US, the need for outdoor education and urban sustainable living education in our public schools. Health, education and physical activity are all connected - want to share with me your experience and observations?
