About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world, greet the world, meet the world

ABOUT ME

I see myself as a very open person and talkative. I'm open to new challenges and face obstacles face first (often with less successful outcomes, but you know how it goes.. somehow it always works out - so I guess I'm a lucky person as well:-))

Challenges are your friend and what makes life worth living. I love to meet new people because people are just so much more interesting than other.. things. I find that it's always rewarding in some way. Culturally, I don't feel very attached to any particular, though the Danish one always will be with me, but a greal deal of travelling and living abroad has moved me to see culture as a less fixed thing - in me as well.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay calm in a storm and smile about it after if you made it out alive - and tell the bloody story!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't used CS a lot in the past but hopefully that's about to change. I haven't had a place of my own for a long time due to travels, so I just mostly hang out with people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nearly none so far, though I stayed with a nice bloke in Scotland once through a friend's profile.

Interests

Travelling and world affairs are of great interest to me. Being part of the AFS Interculture Network in Denmark is very connected to that. Intersting stuff:) Like most people, I like music, art, and films (for learning, imagining, and pure entertainment). I don't play any instrument and I haven't seen every movie there is (by far), but I feel that we can talk about it anyway:)

Music, Movies, and Books

This could take awhile. Let's chat about that, but here's a very good one for each of these categories (you know, for a rainy afternoon): Thank You For Smoking, Game of Thrones (I'm on the fifth book myself), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (the old stuff is the best, but just because the new stuff is not as good, it does not mean it's not pretty worth listening to)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Of course living in China, Peru, and South Africa were amazing.

I will never forget the nice dinner with the Chinese family with whom we celebrated the Chinese new year. Later that night it was celebrated in a small approx. 14 m2 room owned by a chinese artist with long hair, a scary large knife, a frequently used guitar and a Snoop Dog video running on the small telly in the corner. A surreal night definately.

A nice travelling moment is in the Scotish highlands where I ended up (God knows how) at a techno party in a barn. As strange as strange can be.

In South Africa, the religious gathering in Moria is unforgettable, and the interesting introduction to rural and rich SA it led to.

I suppose all these moment are connected to travelling. I guess that says it all, doesn't it? :)
