Keep speaking Castilian! Save some cash to keep traveling!
Blog de Sudamerica
¡Che!

Am a foodie, having completed a senior thesis on local grass-fed meat production in the SF Bay Area and worked in Oakland communities growing food for the hungry and impoverished.
Currently working for the Sacramento International Hostel.
I've recently returned from a journey traveling up the western coast of South America. The culture shock having come back to the United States continues to affect me. I had taken a step out of my comfort zone and personally experienced the inequality, marginalization, and poverty felt by so many others in the world. Spending months with Argentines, I had acquired new expressions, new understandings, new beliefs, confidence, and ultimately a new identity. Returning from this dream and resuming my so extremely privileged life in suburban Sacramento, Im left feeling very strange.
Now I find myself torn between two lives. One which searches for the Latin American culture and community I had enjoyed so much before, trying to make new latin American friends, speak Spanish, and keep the memory and knowledge of Latin America alive here in the United States. The other which progresses with the ambitions I had before my trip, creating music, investigating my heritage, exploring nature, finding meaningful employment, and educating myself.
Ultimately, I strive to find the balance and harmony necessary to continue progressing my life and the lives of those around me.
You are the path.
