About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm easy to get along with, positive, often quiet in crowds or initially, but talkative on topics I'm passionate about and once I've gotten to know people. Athletic and enjoy all kinds of sports, and most of all love good company and good conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to couchsurfing, but I've heard a lot of great things about it. Looking forward to joining the CS community!

Interests

Travel - seeing knew places, learning about different cultures, and experiencing the ways other people live!
Listening to music, reading good books, and playing sports (competitively and for fun).
Being outdoors - canoeing, hiking, and camping. Have also been developing an appreciation of the different forms that nature takes in an urban environment like Toronto.
Food and its production - I've been involved with a number of community gardens, have worked for a small organic farm, and recently did fieldwork on an experimental coffee farm in Costa Rica.
Soil ecology - currently studying nutrient dynamics in agroforestry systems, and am particularly interested in the roles of soil microbial life in cycling nutrients and enhancing plant health.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Arriving in Gimmelwald, Switzerland. The tiny village overlooks a deep valley and has a nearly panoramic view of the most beautiful mountains I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning from people who have a different set of skills and experiences than I do. I like sharing with those who have a perspective on life that's unique to my own.
