I'm a recent college grad with a huge appetite for traveling. Since graduation from college, I've lived in Maryland, Massachusetts , Florida, and Delaware. I've also spent time overseas in China. I majored in journalism and I hope to start a career as a journalist. Particularly in a job that will enable me to travel a lot and to pursue my passion in writing.

I'm on Couchsurfing because I am a huge fan of the communal aspect of traveling. Traveling is so much more than just going some place alone or with friends and family. You learn so much more about a place when you can actually spend time with a local resident whose lived there and has stories about what the place is like. I really think the social part of traveling is so valuable and I believe that Couchsurfing is a medium that can help to facilitate that.

I like a wide variety of music. Anything from 70's-80's classic rock to sappy pop songs to alternative music from the 2010's. As a Christian, I do listen to a fair amount of faith-based artists. I also do enjoy movie soundtracks, specifically for blockbuster movies. Some of the artists that I enjoy include: Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, MxPx, Coldplay, Don Moen, Justin Timberlake, Francesca Battistelli, Relient K, Anberlin, Box Car Racer, Eminem, My Chemical Romance, Newsboys, Five Iron Frenzy. Just a really wide spectrum. Always down to discover new music.

I greatly enjoy watching a wide variety of movies. From a young age I've been a huge fan of action adventure franchises like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Jason Bourne. I like superhero movies as well specifically Batman, Spiderman, the Avengers and the X-Men. Similar to music, I like watching new films and I also really watching movies that you can discuss with other people afterwards.

I'm a huge bookworm. Usually reading something every day. Probably my all time favorite author is JRR Tolkien and I've read most of the Middle Earth mythology. I like reading some of the classics from Hemmingway and Fitzgerald. Though they tend to be lengthy, I get really sucked into Steven King novels. I like reading historical fiction and also thrillers that make me want to turn the page fast.

I've went snorkling in the Florida Keys with some friends once. It was unlike anything I'd ever done before. Just felt so cool being far out in the water and seeing so many different sorts of fish.

I have some experience as an English teacher, which is what I did when I was in China. That's probably the only thing I'm qualified to teach right now, though I will say that I'm also pretty gifted at teaching younger children. I have experience working at a nursing home too so that has helped me with being able to handle medical emergencies. I like to learn and to listen from what other people teach me. I also try to share my belongings and tend to not be too stingy.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I am good at helping to clean up dishes, to do yardwork around the house, to help with moving furniture or other heavy items. Probably labor would be my best method for sharing with hosts. Also as a writer, I can look over and give feedback on works of writing if need be. Generally, I do not take for granted when someone lets me into their home and I want to try to make up for it in whatever way I can.
