ABOUT ME

I'm a teacher by profession. I chose this line of work
as it gives me a lot of freedom and allows me to follow
my passion for traveling and meeting people.
I've been living in Kuwait for the last 12 months and
have been to SriLanka, Bahrain, Dubai and Oman.
I start my new teaching post in Oman at the end of August
and I want to go and have a look at Vietnam, Cambodia
and Thailand.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in karma. Be honest, open and nice and people are usually nice back. Smile at the world and the world will smile back.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

6'5" tall, dark, educated, well travelled Englishman. Who likes to sit in a hotel lobby somewhere 'tickling the old ivories' , cycling around a new city or just sit chatting people I don't no.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. But I've travelled all around the world a couple of
times and slept in some pretty strange places,
like a snow hole on top of a mountain and including
the usual hostels, hotels and campsites.

Apart from traveling, I love bicycles and before
moving to the middle east to work had several
of them back at my house in the UK. I'm actually
contemplating buying a Brompton folding bike
which I could take traveling with me. I also love to
play the piano and the guitar. Snorkeling and climbing.

The Cruel sea, The English Patient. Great films and even
better books. Recently read ' The Histories' by Herodotus and
reading the Classical World by Fox at the moment.
Much of the music I listen to I like to play or try to play
on the piano. Everything from 'Ode to Black' to Chopin and Le Onde.

Had a near death experience on the second pitch
on Central Groove which is a climbing route in Devon.
I had to untie myself and free climb the last 50 feet
of the route. A real 'do or die' experience.
