About Me

I don't know, the bloody tape caught fire.

I'm not in Worcestershire,Pembrokshire or Llandudno, the internet cannot seem to comprehend that I choose to live in a small town outside of Manchester.

It ain't where you are, where your from or where your going, its what you love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Despite having a profile since 2009 I haven't taken advantage of CS while travelling but I'm hoping to in the near future. I've started meeting up with other CSers to go climbing.

No experience so far.

In order of current importance; Walking and climbing up mountains and occasionally skiing down, Beaten up second hand paperbacks, films, learning from other cultures and philosophising, in a quasi-intelectual way (need to buy a pipe really.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently Books:Slaughter house 5.The electric cool aid acid test.Down and out in London and Paris.Homage to Catalonia. On Beauty. The sun also rises.A moveable feast.Movies : Pretty blokey really.Anything with Bogart or Mitchum in.Duck soup (Marx bros)Saturday night and Sunday morning.Office space.Grosse point blank. One flew over the cuckoos nest.Dark glow of the mountains (Herzog)Music:Leonard Cohen (pretty much everything)Punk from the 70's, stuff from the 80's is just a bit too ironic.Warren Zevon tends to cheer me up at the moment. The contemporary stuff tends to be welsh psychadelic electronica.Spent most of my misspent youth listening to trip hop, dub, intelligent D&B and fringe electronica of a non-teutonic bent.Oh and Ian Brown is king monkey.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not so sure I would presume to set myself up as a teacher of anything but I can talk the hind legs off a donkey when it comes to History, Politics and economics. I'm a pretty good cook especially when I'm camping (its the challenge). I'm mainly trying to learn how the world works so if you can help me let me know.
