I'm from a small quiet countryside town, and currently live in a slightly more occupied quiet town. I'm primarily a house-wife. While some may think that's absolutely boring, I actually love it. I have time to do whatever activities I want. I love anything artsy (drawing, painting) and crafty (scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, etc). Yoga and tea are an important part of my daily activities. I also love being active, admittedly more so during the summer months when it's warmer. I used to be an aspiring writer, but now I've settled with just jotting down thoughts in journals.

Since I was a little girl I've wanted to see the world. The first place I used to pretend to visit was England and to this day I'd love to visit England first. Financially travel is difficult, so I'm hoping to meet wonderful new friends on here to share both couches and stories with.

Music: if it's good, or you have a good argument for it, I'll listen to it. I tend to lean toward country, relaxing music, dubstep, and rock. See, varied!

Movies: Action, comedy, romance, documentaries. The only things I shy away from are horror movies. I'm such a sissy when it comes to horror movies. My absolute favorite movie is Pride & Prejudice. I'm also a child at heart and have a collection of Disney movies that maybe a person my age SHOULD be ashamed of, but hey, no shame. As far as action movies go I love the Transformers series as well as Sherlock Homes and Harry Potter (again, no shame). Honestly I'll give anything a chance as long as it isn't scary.

Books: Harry Potter, anything written by Patrick Rothfuss (if you haven't read any of his books I highly recommend finding a few), all types of classical novels (The Picture of Dorian Gray & Pride & Prejudice are my most read novels), Eat Pray Love, Garth Nix's novels, The Sword of Truth series, Dan Brown novels...I have stacks of books laying around my house of all types of genres.

The year after I graduated high school I went on a trip to Mississippi to help rebuild and clean up some of the destruction caused by hurricane Katrina. I was able to work directly with some of the families who lost everything they had. The gratitude that those individuals had for people like me, volunteering my time, was incredible. It was also neat to see the gulf of the States and be in the deep south. The hospitality is unmatched and the land is beautiful.

I can help with things like learning to crochet or gardening or crafts. If there's a recipe you've been curious about I'm sure we could cook it together. I always appreciate learning knew things and am open to whatever skills or ideas you'd like to teach. A common ground would be that we could share stories to fill in any times that aren't being spent sight-seeing or learning. Everybody knows at least one story and most of us have novels full of them to share :)

A view of the countryside on the East Coast of the States. Life is a lot slower here and it's pretty quiet. We don't lack beautiful sites to see though. Within a 30-40 minute drive you can be to areas that are loaded with shopping, dining, and entertainment. Over the winter months there isn't much to do here as the weather is usually miserable, but the other 3 seasons there is plenty to do. When all else fails, a good meal can always be made, and good conversation can flow!

It may also interest you to know that we're situated about 45 minutes away from the state capital of Harrisburg. The area we're in is primarily Pennsylvania Dutch so it won't be an uncommon experience to be driving down the road and pass Amish homes/farms and horse and buggies.
