I live in the Netherlands, in the medieval town center of Gouda (yes, the cheese).

My apartment is also right in the town center, so I figured I could be of help to tourists interested in visiting my country.

History is my big passion, but I'm interested in lots of stuff, like astronomy, art and culture, geopolitics, science and technology, music and movies, architecture, travel... Good team member in a pub quiz!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: open-minded, but mostly blues (Black Keys, Johnny Lang and older stuff), 60s rock or psychedelic (The Who, CCR) some electronic (Fatboy Slim and others) and soul/funk.

Books: I love reading. Most is non-fiction history. Other than that A Song of Ice and Fire, Asimov, Douglas Adams, Orwell, and some Dutch literature classics like Reve, Mülisch etc. Grisham and Ludlum for the lighter stuff.

Movies: Favourites are Big Lebowski, the Blues Brothers, the Good the Bad and the Ugly, Inglourious Basterds, Back to the Future, and I'm a big Quentin Tarantino, Coen Brothers and Kubrick fan.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach you Dutch, Dutch 'cuisine' (if you can call it that), history, some basic harmonica if you have one, and give you the full tour of Gouda if you come here during a weekend. I have also been to almost every major city in the Netherlands so I can give you lots of travel recommendations.
