I learn by going where I have to go
I used to be religious, and religious people sometimes ask me what the purpose of life might be. It sounds ridiculous, but I think the purpose of life is to be good to others. Not necessarily just people you care about, but everyone, including people you dislike. I can't say I'm perfect at this, of course, but I think that's what I strive to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just starting out here. I'm driving across the United States twice in the next five weeks so I thought this would be a good backup. Once I return to Portland (a city which I'm sure has a lot of couch surfing hosts already) I'll speak to my roommates about becoming a surfing spot on a more regular basis.
Before I moved to Portland, I couch-surfed for about 6 weeks after I moved out of my last place of abode. I had a semi-permanent couch with a good friend but I would periodically spend time at other people's places. I also took a couple of road trips that summer, staying with friends again. As far as complete or mostly complete strangers, there have been some overnight stays at the houses of friends of friends.
Writing. Reading. Photography. Music, playing and listening. Movies. Art. Soccer. Chocolate.

Teach, Learn, Share
I could perhaps teach someone a thing or two about a medium format camera if they so desire. They could also sit in on my drums and hit something.
