About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Save up for my Great American Roadtrip

ABOUT ME

I am a 25 year old electrical engineer/software developer in Cape Town, South Africa. I like going out for drinks with friends, playing my guitar, camping/hiking, and just chilling (reading, movies, surfing the internet). I think I'm laid back, and very easy to get along with. Would love to meet new people around the world, and will definitely host as soon as I get my own place.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a Christian, so I try to follow the teachings of Jesus and the bible. But before you run away:
1) I definitely DONT believe this means you have to have a boring/quiet life. I enjoy having a drink or three with buddies.
2) I definitely DONT only associate with/enjoy the company of other christians...many of my close friends are athiests etc

I think we should all try our absolute BEST to accept each other and ourselves as we are, and stop trying to:
1) change or influence others so that they're more in line with our way of thinking,
2) change ourselves so that we're more like others, or more likeable to others.

I think this is a very difficult thing to achieve.

Trying to live in the moment as much as possible is also a personal goal of mine. (I find buddhism fascinating for this reason, and would love to meet some buddhists). Can't say I've mastered it, but I try my best not to dwell on the past or worry about the future.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I'm still new to this...I surf, and in future I hope to host as well as maybe contribute to the website development. I would like to get more involved with the local CS events back home as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have surfed three times - in Paris, Bruges and Zurich. All three experiences were awesome! I think couch surfing is way better than staying in hostels - you get to meet local people and see more of their culture, and benefit from their advice on things like where to get the best food and what to see. I look forward to staying involved with couchsurfing for a very long time.
