I am a 23 year old from New Zealand currently in Australia to save money for further adventures and experiences.

After growing up in small town New Zealand, I knew I didn't want to fall into the trap of a dead end job to support children at a young age as many of my friends had done. I moved to Christchurch and began studying towards becoming a PADI Scuba Instructor. To facilitate the payment of this course, I began employment in hospitality and had been in the industry for 5 years, throughout the rebuild of the city.

Forever interested in travelling and experiencing and learning new things, I impulsively purchased a cheap flight to Bangkok and from there went to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.

Being on the road for the last three months, I aim to avoid adult responsibilities as long as possible and continue to move and see more of the world. With plans to meet fellow travellers I've met along the way early next year in Chile and other newly made friends in the Middle East later in the year, I hope to find reliable employment and save enough funds to allow further travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having spent my accumulated savings in South East Asia over the course of three months I arrived in Melbourne with enough cash for one week in a hostel optimistic about acquiring a job within this time frame. I have since obtained employment but am requiring a place to stay temporarily until I can afford further board in a hostel as they have been unwilling to breach their 'pay on arrival' policy.
