ABOUT ME

I hate About Me's, because I feel like I always end up sounding insufferable and a little crazy. But nonetheless--

I'm a 21 year old lady. I spend the majority of my time reading books in my underwear, running after buses, and taking naps in public places. After taking a year and a half off of school, I'm finally back and pursuing a career in sexual health education. I'm real passionate about feminism (and my cat, but that's basically the same thing), eating delicious ethnic food, and being a sassy queen. I'm sort of shy, but also really loud, so that might be important. My favorite place in the world is New Orleans, but the Midwest will always have my heart. I love getting lost (for real, if I'm traveling, that's all I do) and meeting new people (even if it terrifies me sometimes). I have a nice boyfriend and nice parents and one time a homeless man told me I had the legs of a warrior goddess who drinks too much wine. I liked that a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is all about self-love and understanding. I believe that we are all majestic perfect angels who deserve to do great things and see great things. That sounds sort of cultish, but not hating yourself is really important. I live my life because I have spent (and occasionally still spend) too much time denying myself everything because I feel unworthy, and that's just stupid. I deserve to live my life. I also live for samosas.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I actually haven't participated yet! I've always wanted to, but getting involved as always seemed sort of daunting to me. However, I've known of the organization for years, loved the mission, and plan to use it this summer while traveling through the United States. I can't wait.
