About Me

I'm interested in seeing more of the world and eventually moving to a more relaxed country where I can spend my time working (a little less but I still need to pay the bills) and volunteering more.
I've been fortunate enough to spend some time in Prague, Vienna, London, and Maori and visit Paris. I've traveled to numerous places throughout the U.S., but the idea of hopping on a plane to go to an unknown land where I don't know the language excites me far more than staying here.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a small budget. Once a plane ticket is acquired room and board become more difficult. I'd like to meet new people and learn more about the cultures around me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't know that I have favorites. I will listen to or read anything. I am open to all music and books. Not a huge fan of movies so quotes from movies regularly fall short on me at work.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I find my travel amazing, especially the times I've gone alone and not gotten myself lost...but the most amazing thing was very simple. A power outage in a neighboring town, in a not so great area. And as I am sitting in constant slow moving traffic I continuously see no one stopping at this intersection (where there is normally a traffic light) to let this young school girl pass. She was maybe 9. So when I approached the intersection I put my car in park. Got out and stood in the middle of the intersection and forced people to stop. Frankly, I never knew I had that in me and it was awesome. The kid kind of looked at me like I was nuts...lol

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be more than happy to help with conversational English if wherever I am staying the hosts would like to practice. I'd also like to be able to learn some of the language wherever I am. When we went to Prague we were all set to try out some Czech we had been practicing only to learn no one wanted to speak Czech with us, lol.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I've lived in King of Prussia my entire life. I can share what the Philadelphia area is like and give suggestions if the hosts think they'd like to come to town. I'm a dreadful cook so I certainly won't be wowing anyone with a cool home cooked meal, but I love to laugh and hang out.

I can make an awesome chocolate chip cookie with avocado, I would be more than willing to show hosts how great cookies can be without butter. :)

I love to volunteer. I think it would be interesting to find hosts who also love to volunteer and go along with them one day/evening to help them with their volunteer work and try out something new.
