About Me

My name is Jennifer but I go by my middle name Ana. I am a mom of three teenagers and a teacher for the YMCA in a local inner city elementary school working with 45 children ages 5 to 11. I am an outdoor enthusiast and especially love hiking and camping. I usually try to walk at least 5 miles a day and do not mind walking for transportation when needed. I love music of all kinds, sing alto, play bassoon, and dance ballroom. I read anything and everything when I have time and especially love historical fiction, mystery and suspense, and biographies. I love playing board games especially Catan, Mancala, and Sheriff of Nottingham.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am hoping to teach English in Buenos Aires and the program I am looking at right now to obtain my TEFL certification does not provide accomodations. So a friend of mine led me to this website. I am hoping to find someone to stay with while in Buenos Aires and am looking forward to meeting and getting to know local people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, but I especially love pop rock and classical. I read just about anything but my all time favorite authors are John Grisham, Danielle Steele, and Janet Evanovich. My favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride, classic. i do enjoy watching a variety of movies though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the opportunity to play my bassoon in the orchestra for West Side Story. That was an amazing experience! I also had the opportunity to participate in a pen pal program with my farming town to an inner city section of Philadelphia and my students truly enjoyed getting to know the students from Philly. It was an amazing project.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach lots of things I suppose. I currently teach reading, math, and physical education to elementary students. I also know how to read music and play bassoon. I love the chance to learn new things and have adventures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am more than willing to help with anything that needs done. I can teach English as I of course know that well. I can share my love of music, movies, games, books. I can share my culture and experiences. I am a great cook and I also bake as well.
